An extension begins with the whole house

The wish for an extension often starts with a lack of space. Yet additional floor area is not always its most important result. A different route, an opening onto the garden or daylight in the right place can change the whole home.

We therefore start with the existing plan. Which rooms are used most, and which remain overlooked? Where do everyday routes cross awkwardly? An extension offers a chance to reconsider these relationships.

The connection between old and new deserves as much attention as the new elevation. Floor levels, material transitions and views determine whether an addition becomes part of the house. Thoughtful design brings these decisions together.
