A contemporary kitchen with natural stone and bespoke joinery in an eighteenth-century listed building.
Explore the projectNew tradition
A contemporary kitchen within the classical architecture of an eighteenth-century listed building in the historic centre of The Hague. The new interior responds to the proportions and character of the house.
A natural stone island forms the centre of the room. Timber accents and pale cabinetry keep the material palette calm and connect the kitchen with the adjoining living space. The original spatial arrangement remains legible. Materials are chosen for how they work together, from the worktop to the bespoke joinery. The result is a contemporary place for cooking and gathering, carefully integrated into a historic setting.
